Pre-war charm in Berlin

What I love about small hotels in old buildings is, that charming story from an old era that usually accompanies them…

This pension, built in 1985  in west Berlin, was for the period 1931-1937 the house of the silent movie star Asta Nielsen.

Although it was converted into a guesthouse of 14 rooms, the atmosphere still remains the same. High ceilings, wooden stairs and art-nouveau windows all try -and succeed- to convince you that you were born at the turn of the century.

This is a place where I wouldn’t mind to meet a ghost from the past, cause every room is furnished in that old-fashioned way where  my “ghost-guest”, could feel like home….
