The hot weather last weekend had me thinking about summer! And what says summer more than lemonade, fresh strawberries and vodka?
Vodka Lemonade Recipe:
2 cups freshly squeezed lemon juice (or roughly 10 lemons) 1 cup simple syrup or brown sugar 1 1/2 cup soda water 1/2 cup vodka fresh strawberries to garnish, thinly sliced fresh basil to garnish, finely chopped
In a large pitcher, mix together the lemon juice, syrup or sugar, soda water and vodka. Fill glasses with ice and thinly sliced strawberries. Pour the lemonade mixture into the glasses and top with fresh basil. Enjoy!
Ralph agreed that we should try a cocktail out in the veranda and I managed to take some shots before the pitcher was empty!
Made with fresh basil from the garden, it was the perfect late-afternoon drink, served outdoors.
If you find yourself lounging with a bunch of friends or with your favourite book I highly recommend you try this, with or without the vodka!
