Do you have a pitstop? A special spot you turn to for an espresso shot, a cup of tea, a “room” to hide for a while and have a chat with yourself during a crazy day? Mine is this little modest Marylebone café on 18 Chiltern Street. It’s an intimate place where you can take a serious brake from the fuss, refuel with Allpress coffee and Swedish pastries, page through the latest Monocle issue and put your mind in gear. Sometimes I overdo it with the refuelling process and devote myself to a a relaxing task that lasts longer. It’s tempting, beware!
Monocle Cafe London, 18 Chiltern Street, W1U 7QA. Opening Hours: Mon-Fri 07.00-19.00, Saturday 09.00-18.00, Sunday 10.00-18.00.
