Orange and purple colors in the sky become each day the signal not only for a romantic sunset in Côte d’Azur (aka French Riviera) but also for Kate’s daily visit at the beach.Kate holds on one hand her turquoise bohemian-style bag that contains a snack for her and her daughter Sylvia as well as her cellphone and personal documents, while on her other side lies the small hand of the 7-year old girl. They are on vacations, far away from Kate’s office in the US. This trip constitutes a complete and perfect chance to spend time with her only daughter and treat her like the ideal mama.
7 p.m. but the light still reflects against her round sunglasses and her paillette-embelished leather sandals almost sink in the soft dry sand. After having found the perfect spot for their picnic, little Sylvia puts her sand play toys down and starts straight away the construction of a big castle for her princess-doll.
Kate has always hated the conventional way of life and the ridiculously expensive vacations in some Asian islands. During last years, insists on spending a calm week with her crochet-knit shorts and her hippie T-shirt on, enjoying the feeling of being a true free spirit away from city’s distractions that tend to pollute her mind. Only in that way, she can show Sylvia that being healthy doesn’t include a hasty life in the capital’s hustle and bustle, but comprises a pure connection with sea and nature that can reduce her stress and let her respire effortlessly.
S: Mummy, are you happy here?
K: Of course honey. I’m happy as long as I’m here with you..I love you, you know..You should never forget that.
S: And love makes the world go ’round, right mummy?
K: Love doesn’t make the world go ’round; love is what makes the ride worthwhile..
Light keeps fading, the castle starts to take its final form and the little queen prays that her princess lived happily ever after..
