Who’s ready for a healthy twist? ( I definitely am! ) We are taking baby steps towards the so called “balanced diet” , so we decided to start from scratch and try a detox water recipe! Emma is a “well-being” genius and turned our water into a colourful fruit pool that provides a number of benefits for the body and mind.
How to prepare your detox water:
8-12 glasses of water, lime, bergamots, grapefruit, mandarin and pomegranate. Cut the citrus fruits in big pieces, deseed the pomegranate and add the fruits into a bottle or a jug of water. If you are a grapefruit lover add a few drops too. Leave your detox water in the fridge for a couple oh hours. Enjoy it cold day long, and make more!
The benefits of:
Lime: lime aids digestion and contains immune system-supporting compounds that strengthen the body’s natural defenses against infection and disease. Pomegranates: are an antioxidant-rich superfood and are a source of fibre, B vitamins, vitamin C, vitamin K and potassium.
Mandarin: Contains a high level of Vitamin C which provides a number of health benefits. The antioxidants present in mandarin help to lower bad cholesterol and promote good cholesterol. Mandarins are a substantial source of fibre and are natural blood purifier that helps to flush out toxins and unwanted substances from the body.
Grapefruit: A very rich fruit in vitamin C that strengthens and supports our immune system. It boosts metabolism and reduces stress. Bergamot: Helps maintain proper rates of metabolism, it aids in digestion and proper absorption of nutrients.
