There is nothing more satisfying than waking up early on Sundays to meet friends-considered-family, for brunch. And I really don’t know where I was getting this sudden burst of energy to get dressed rapidly, wear my hair in a ponytail, and arrive on time, meaning two hours before our fixed date! I think it’s because I was craving the delicacies i was about to meet at Monsieur Barbu, or because of my previous experience with Pasta Flora masterpieces.
I believe my company arrived right about the time before I fainted or died. A slow, torturing death due to an over-exposure to flying plates with burgers, pancakes, omelettes and sweets when none of them being mine. I grabbed the menu, which I had of course learnt by heart while waiting, and proudly placed my order. The bug was over, let’s have brunch!
If your are anything like me and long for the dessert part of a meal, before any savoury taste hits your tongue, stay wise and leave room in your naughty stomach for the sweet fireworks. Don’t leave the table, I warn you, before trying Ioanna’s carrot cake, chocolate pie, lemon tart and the fluffy pancakes with jam garnishing. Now that I ‘ve made my statement, lets move onto the main course. Do try the Monsieur Barbu Burger, the Chicken Tandoori Tortillas, the mushroom, bacon or the spinach, feta tart. Yes, each and every one of them, if possible! No worries, I’ll be around the corner to call the ambulance!
