“A True Fighter”

March is the first month of the spring season and usually comes with a lot of rainfall. However, today it’s a day full of sunlight and this clear sky is ideal for outdoor sport training. Especially if you are a tennis lover, just like Tina.

The 24-year-old athletic girl gets on the bus with a great anticipation. Her printed backpack contains a vintage tennis racket, a gift from her beloved uncle, former tennis player and champion. With so many great memories from her childhood in her head, Tina finds each tennis training forming a true connection with her past.

The court is empty today even though the weather is really promising. The reason is that it is 10 o’clock in the morning, time when most people work and children are at school. With her jelly sneakers, she steps on the clay with persistence. The fact that she is alone makes her feel even more relaxed, as she can play without losing her focus from people’s yelling or applause.

She throws the ball in the air and performs a small jump that makes her pleated pink skirt lift some centimeters up unveiling her beautiful strong legs. Her sunglasses protect her from the sun that approaches the middle of the sky as her watch shows 12 pm.

Her uncle was the one that triggered Tina’s interest in sports taking her with him in every single championship he participated in. The blond girl was watching a real icon reflected on his figure while playing. However, fate was cruel and her mentor died young suffering from lung cancer.

She has never lost her faith on sports and she is a strong believer that exercise can diminish the possibility of someone getting sick. No one can control their destiny, but being a true fighter only stronger can make you. Her motto is “Never look down, deal with your fears and problems. Just hit the ball back when it comes for you!” And so she does!

Enjoy the World Tennis Day, 4th March 2013!
